Zusammenfassung
Postmoderne Phänomene entwerten in zunehmendem Maße traditionelle Erkenntnisse. Diese Erkenntnisse werden für das Denken und Handeln des Managements nutzlos, da sich die Handlungssysteme der Akteure teilweise derart radikal verändern, dass das Wissen der Vergangenheit keine sinnvolle Unterstützung unter den sich wandelnden Konstellationen mehr darstellt.l Im hier verwendeten, sicherlich sehr einfachen Verständnis umschreibt der Begriff Postmodernismus Phänomene, die sich dadurch auszeichnen, dass sie es einem Akteur nicht mehr ermöglichen, weder linear zu denken noch zu handeln: Postmoderne Konzeptionen tendieren dazu “to delegitimate all mastercodes“.2 Vielfach führt dieser Effekt dazu, dass der Begriff Postmodernismus negativ belegt ist.3 Unabhängig von der Einschätzung, ob Postmodernismus nun negative oder positive Bewertungen hervorruft, weisen Unternehmen in zunehmendem Maße Anzeichen für postmoderne Organisationsformen auf: Paradoxien, Vagheit (“fuzziness”), Ungewissheit, Inkonsistenzen, “hidden agendas” usw. bestimmen und erschweren v. a. das operative Umsetzungsmanagement. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird auch die zielorientierte Gestaltung der zukunftsträchtigen Architektur einer Hochleistungsorganisation problematisch. Je geringer der Erfolgsbeitrag bestimmter Konfigurationsmustern hinsichtlich der anvisierten Wertsteigerung ist, desto unbestimmter werden letztlich a priori die tatsächlich erfolgreichen Strukturen und Prozesse sein. Dies bedingt, dass allgemeingültige Ideallösungen selten und Konzepte der Vielfalt zunehmen werden. D. h.: Organisationale Pluralität wird zum Indiz postmoderner Organisationen.
