Zusammenfassung

Die Grundfrage im Bereich der Strategischen Unternehmensfüung ist jene, wie Unternehmen Wettbewerbsvorteile erreichen und aufrechterhalten bzw. welche firmenspezifische Fähigkeiten als Quellen von Vorteilen gegenüber der Konkurrenz identifiziert werden können. Will man die Beziehung zwischen den Wettbewerbsvorteilen und Kompetenzen eines Unternehmens verstehen, so muss den Füungskräften ein entsprechender Stellenwert in der ressourcenorientierten Sichtweise der Unternehmensführung eingeräumt werden. Sind es doch jene Personen im Unternehmen, die als treibende Kraft für das Hervorbringen und Weiterentwickeln von Kompetenzen (wie z.B. Produkte, Prozesse, Wissen etc.) und das Schaffen neuer Handlungs- und Denkweisen anzusehen sind. Ihre Visionen, Werte und Philosophien prägen wesentlich das Unternehmens-Bild und die -Strategien.
