Zusammenfassung
Der ressourcenorientierte Ansatz ist zweifelsfrei sehr erfolgreich bei der Erklärung strategisch relevanter Unternehmenskonfigurationen. Als beispielhafter Beleg hierfür sei auf jüngere empirische Arbeiten, wie Brumagim (1992), Farjoun (1994), Ollinger (1994), Robins/Wiersema (1995) und Brush/Artz (1999) verwiesen. Durchweg zeigt sich hier, daß Hypothesen, die aus dem ressourcenorientierten Ansatz abgeleitet wurden, Bestätigung finden. Erlauben die Themenstellungen einen direkten Vergleich zu der Erklärungskraft nicht-ressourcenbasierter Aussagen, so zeigt sich bei diesen Untersuchungen stets eine klare Überlegenheit der Erklärungskraft. Die Untersuchungen variieren stark in Aufbau und Formalisierungsgrad. Sie reichen von der Analyse aggregierter Massendaten, die in der industrieökonomischen Tradition verwurzelt sind, bis hin zur Fallstudie auf der Basis von langjährigen Detailinformationen über Unternehmen in einer Branche.
