Abstract
When exploring the biography of Princess Alexandrina Cantacuzino one is fascinated by the incredible variety of social work activities she was involved with during her lifetime and by the immense number of writings she left behind. However, in the light of my own research interests, her biography is important, because it offers one of the most important and visible illustrations of the way in which feminism and nationalism were intertwined with the aims and ideology that influenced social work in interwar Romania.
