Zusammenfassung

Die tschechische Republik gehört zu den Ländern, in denen Frauenbewegungen und die Teilnahme von Frauen am öffentlichen Leben eine lange Tradition haben. Viele der Frauenorganisationen waren im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert (bis 1948) sehr aktiv, und ihr Engagement wurde von bekannten Männern unterstützt, z.B. vom ersten tschechoslowakischen Präsidenten Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk.
