Zusammenfassung
Wie die meisten fortgeschrittenen Industriestaaten hat auch der französische Staat in den letzten dreißig Jahren gewaltige wirtschaftliche Reformen in die Wege geleitet. Die staatliche Politik hat die Privatisierung und die Deregulierung des Wirtschaftslebens gefördert, ebenso die Deregulierung des Arbeitsmarktes und die Rationalisierung des Wohlfahrtsstaates. Die Verminderung staatlicher Eingriffe, weniger industriepolitischer Aktivismus, die Dezentralisierung von Tarifverhandlungen sowie neues Ausbalancieren der traditionellen Nachkriegskompromisse zwischen abhängig Beschäftigten und Wirtschaft zugunsten letzterer haben zu einem Rückzug des Staates geführt. Staatliche Kommunikation hat den Versuch unternommen, die Öffentlichkeit von der Notwendigkeit und der Angemessenheit derartiger Veränderungen zu überzeugen, häufig unter Bezugnahme auf Globalisierung und Europäisierung (innerhalb der EU).
