Zusammenfassung
Der Ausgang der Bundestagswahl 2002 war für viele eine Überraschung. Die Ergebnisse der vorangegangenen Landtagswahlen zeigten ebenso wie die ein halbes Jahr vor der Bundestagswahl veröffentlichten Umfrageergebnisse, dass mit einem Wahlsieg der Unionsparteien zu rechnen war. Stattdessen konnte sich die SPD mit einigen Verlusten behaupten, während die Grünen deutliche Stimmengewinne verbuchen konnten.
