Zusammenfassung
Ein kurzer Beitrag über Familienpolitik in Europa ist nahezu eine „mission impossible“. Dennoch ist es möglich verschiedene Wege einzuschlagen. Der hier eingeschlagene Weg hat drei Stationen. Zunächst geht es um ein paar Hinweise zum Thema Familie und Familienpolitik und wenige Worte zum Thema Europa (2). Sodann möchte ich Befunde zum Thema vorstellen, die gekennzeichnet sind durch ihre Heterogenität in punkto Europa-Abgrenzung, Definition der Familienpolitik, der Anlage der Untersuchung und der beobachteten oder vermuteten Folgen der Existenz bzw. der Wirkung von Politik (3). Abschließen möchte ich mit einem thesenartigen Plädoyer für eine europäische Initiative zur Verstärkung der Politik und der Wirkungsforschung auf dem Gebiet der Familie (4).
