Zusammenfassung
Wie thematisiert die US-amerikanische PR-Forschung das Phänomen des steigenden Frauenanteils im Berufsfeld? Was steht im Mittelpunkt des Erkenntnisinteresses? Wie wird dieser soziale Wand-lungsprozess konzeptionell gefasst? Welche Fragestellungen, Methoden und Ergebnisse zeichnen die „Feminisierungs“-Forschung aus? Der Beitrag gibt auf diese Fragen in Form eines systematischen Überblicks Antworten. Er skizziert die „Feminisierungs“-Forschung in den USA und unterscheidet drei Stränge dieser Konzeption, die kritisch analysiert werden. Aufgezeigt wird die Verwobenheit des „Feminisierungs“-Konzepts mit zentralen Paradigmen der PR: Rollenkonzept, Exzellenzprojekt und Professionalisierungsziel. Eine Revision der Genderkonzepte zielt deshalb zugleich auf eine Infragestellung zentraler Säulen der PR-Forschung.
