Zusammenfassung

Die nachfolgenden Bemerkungen befassen sich mit einer soziologischen Paradoxic: mit der Stärke schwacher sozialer Beziehungen. Die Paradoxic äußert sich in dem erstaunlichen Umstand, daß aus soziologischer Sicht auf unsere guten Freunde und engen Vertrauten im großen und ganzen weniger Verlaß ist als auf Personen, die wir nur oberflächlich kennen.

Für besonders hilfreiche Anregungen bei der Endfassung dieses Beitrags gilt mein Dank Jutta Allmendinger, Hartmut Esser und M. Rainer Lepsius.

Eine grammatikalische Anmerkung: Im folgenden wird sehr häufig von „dem Freund“, „dem Stellensucher“, „dem Stellenvermittler“usf. die Rede sein. Für den ganzen folgenden Text soll gelten, daß in diesen Fällen die weiblichen Varianten dieser Bezeichnungen mitgemeint sind.
