Abstract

In this chapter we briefly review the basic tenets of the MaxEnt-Nesom and the construction of the nonequilibrium statistical operator (Neso). In reference [10] its application to the study of dissipative systems with complex behavior was discussed, namely the case of synergetic processes eading to self-organization with the emergence of order out of thermal chaos, the so-called Prigogine dissipative structures [84–87].
