Abstract
Intrathecal therapy is an important technique in the management of cancer pain. Appropriate patient selection and meticulous implantation technique are essential in optimizing outcomes and reducing infective and other risks. The following chapter discusses preoperative considerations, procedural technique, and postoperative care. Text and photographic illustrations will describe intrathecal catheter and pump implantation techniques in detail. The material below is intended as a guide for practicing physicians and trainees undergoing practical training in interventional pain management.
