Abstract
Modulation of monoamines such as norepinephrine and serotonin can alter pain transmission. Antidepressant drugs that increase concentrations of these monoamines can be beneficial in treating pain. Presented is an overview of the dosing, adverse event profiles, and monitoring for antidepressant drugs that have been used to treat pain conditions.
