The Family Office

Abstract

This chapter uses the voices of the book’s many interview partners to highlight potential traps and future opportunities for family offices. Differing opinions on cohesiveness and trust within the family office are discussed first, with some interviewers encouraging families to keep things simple and others pushing to think in terms of generations. Digitization and impact investing as future focuses for family offices are also explored, with some interview partners seeing each of these as major growth areas and others evaluating their importance as only marginal.

“If you’ve seen one family office, you’ve seen … one family office.”—Source unknown
