Abstract
Africa is emerging as a destination for business and understanding the processes of networks and relationships development and management in the continent is important for businesses. In particular it is crucial for entrepreneurs, businesses and investors who are doing business and those with intentions to so to understand how Africa's cultural institutions underpin trust development in entrepreneurial relationships as such an understanding can help the development of long-term profitable relationships between businesses within and outside the continent. This chapter draws on the literature and empirical data to present frameworks to show the forms of entrepreneurial relationships developed by African entrepreneurs, how they attract customers and suppliers, and the local cultural institutions that allow trust and cooperation to develop in entrepreneurial relationships in the midst of weak state and market institutions.
