Abstract

This is the story of Rentl.io, a startup offering a software solution for small hotel properties and accommodation providers. Even though the initial idea is motivated merely by the opportunity to apply for funding and the founders have limited experience in the domain they are entering, this story offers interesting learnings. One of them is associated with the importance of staying in close connection with the market and learning from extracting insights directly from potential customers and market collaborators. By responding to specific needs and wants of the market, Rentl.io gains success and benefits from the fast growth of the tourism sector in the company’s home country. The story is told from the perspective of two of the members of the founding team.
