Abstract
Paper is dedicated to the application of the ‘communication based train control and management enhanced safety and security impact reference model’ (e-SSIRM model), which was defined by author and presented during Transport Systems Telematics TST’2017 conference. Defined model covers safety, security and cybersecurity aspects which should be taken into account in case of different systems based on communication between track-side and on-board equipment. Paper covers presentation of the model, analyze of its applicability and examples of application. Applicability analyses are based on functional 10-by-10 railway transport safety matrix based on legal statements regarding technical and operational safety complemented with security and cybersecurity requirements. Examples of application are based on existing and planned solutions chosen in a way which allows presentation of potential of the e-SSIRM model.
