Science and Higher Education in Poland: Changing Rules

Abstract

In the period 2003–2011, the legislation related to scientific research and higher education in Poland underwent significant changes. The aim of the present paper is to discuss motivations that led to such a reform, as well as its impact on the life of the scientific community and academia.
