Abstract
The allegorical window I position in this chapter is Roy Schafer’s wonderful 1957 set of guidelines for administration of projective testing, and his normalizing of the voyeuristic, autocratic, oracular, and saintly stances as tendencies to be acknowledged yet avoided in our work. My psychotherapy work with a patient with a difficult childhood experience is brought as the landscape in a commitment to circumvent these pitfalls.
