Abstract
In real-life situations, facing and solving ethical dilemmas are an integral part of a physician’s role. In the OSCE, each candidate is assessed for problem-solving and counseling skills. The candidates with clinical experience in dealing with such ethical situations usually perform well in OSCEs. It becomes very difficult for the candidates who have not worked in a particular health system and do not have an understanding of the social, moral, and cultural norms. It is highly recommended to read and familiarize yourself with the regional and national guidelines and protocols on these topics. This can be done by doing either clinical observerships or clinical attachments if possible.
This chapter will outline some common ethical issues and will give a road map on how to go through these situations in the OSCE. There is not a strict pattern or key to follow. Case discussion questions are given for each topic.
