Abstract

An optimization problem was presented in Chap. 2 for a single-stage stratified sample design. This chapter presents a solution to the multipurpose design question borrowing from material presented in Chaps. 3, 4, 5, and 6. A series of solutions was generated for the sample allocation to test the sensitivity of the assumptions.

Notes

  1. 1.

Random numbers from the uniform distribution are generated for each value requiring rounding. If the random number is less than or equal to 0.5, then the integer portion of the value is used as the rounded value. Otherwise, the integer portion plus one is used as the rounded value.
