Abstract
With the massive increase of the urbanization process, the pursuit of sustainability all around the world, situates the cities in evidence regarding various kinds of problems, mainly related to the proper disposal of solid waste. The integrated management of this problem, refers to the decent destiny to it, also a generation’s decrease through its source and recycling of this waste. The first major Brazilian mark, was the creation of the Law 12,305 of 2010, establishing the National Policy on Solid Waste. Assuming these facts, the present work, aims to promote the environmental education of the solid waste’s reuse with the target audience of seventh-year primary students from Pio XII Application College, located in Campinas—SP, seeking an improvement of the cities habitants lifestyle. Initially, the individual ecological footprint was analyzed for consumption investigations and reflection of concepts related to their daily life, relating to Selective Collection and composting of organic waste. Including the help from the information materials, confectioned by the participants of the project with the target audience. It was possible to understand these themes, arousing great interest on their part and generating good communication and friendly dynamics in the workshops. After that, it was possible to identify the behavior turnover of the target students, acting as multipliers by extending the practices from their homes and communities to the environment, making themselves more aware, showing extreme importance for their socialization process, critical thinking about the environment and the importance of preserving it for the well being of the community. This essay has the purpose to make children more aware and responsible for their actions, capable of reflecting on reality and facts to improve people’s lifestyle, personal and community, and can be transmitted to the present and future generations.
