Abstract
We are now ready to model the consciousness approach to information need and information search in the Consciousness’ Drive Information Need-Search Model, diagrammed in Fig. 16.1. The model is divided into five components. The aim of the model is to set out design parameters for harnessing the searcher’s consciousness’ drive by engaging the searcher’s real information need in the search. In this chapter, we pay particular attention to the searcher finding her real information need, giving the finding process its own figure, Fig. 16.2’s Finding Real Information Need.
