Abstract
We take the consciousness approach to information need and information search in this book. The opposite is the computational approach, which is artificial intelligence’s (AI) view that it can imitate human thinking. The AI view asks and answers in the affirmative: How do humans think and can it be put into a machine that imitates human thinking?
