Abstract

Although editing will not disappear, there is still an argument to be had about its value, both for publishing professionals and for the wider culture. In this short concluding chapter, Greenberg reminds us of the potential for development in the discipline of Publishing and a proposed new field of Editing Studies, alongside other cognate subjects, and outlines ideas for future research.
