Abstract

The final chapter offers a clear picture of what has been the outcome regarding the main research questions of this book, as presented in Chapter 1. Chapter 9 revisits the key research questions posed in Chapter 1 and directly responds to them in a succinct manner based on the findings of this book. It refers to the policy implications of the study and finishes by reiterating some reforms and raising further issues and questions for future research on the subject. The chapter also offers closing observations reflecting on the analysis made in the preceding chapters.

Machiavelli’s teaching would hardly have stood the test of parliamentary government, for public discussion demands at least the profession of good faith.
