Abstract
While there are many criticisms of standard mental health care presented throughout this book, the therapeutic process can be incredibly healing and helpful. The following provides both suggested ways to find a therapist and also resources for finding groups and supports outside of formal services. Of course, none of these is mutually exclusive; each person’s journey is their own and it is unlikely that just one thing is going to be the answer. No matter how people put together a support network and build relationships, it is always important to find ways to care for the self. This chapter ends with tips on self-care and coping with some of the phenomena explored throughout this book. Note that nothing in this chapter is intended as medical advice; rather, these are ideas that may or may not be helpful for any given individual.
