Abstract
In Chap. 1, the approach to evidence-based patient care was defined as looking at the three areas—the patient, the dentist, and current knowledge. That major portion of the chapter provided suggestions on how to access the most current literature, as well as a systematic method to critically evaluate that literature using the Paul-Elder Critical Thinking Model™. The following case studies will provide a framework to ensure that the “patient” portion section is reasonably complete.
