Abstract

Crystallization is the physical process of forming a crystalline material from a liquid, gas, or amorphous solid. The control of the crystallization process has several implications in the pharmaceutical field and a strong valence in the determination of API and excipient properties, which impact solid dosage form performance. Lack of control on the dynamics of crystal equilibria is detrimental to manufacturing and stability of pharmaceutical dosage forms. Such an increased awareness has fostered the development of advanced powder technologies.
