Abstract
This chapter describes UNESCO TVET project named Better Education for Africa’s Rise (BEAR). Starting with a description of the rational, background, and importance of conducting this particular project for the SADC community in the selected countries, it continues by explaining the overall approach used to develop the project from the inception phase, when a consultation process was conducted in 2011, to design the project, establish clear objectives and key features in relation to the curriculum development component, and provide an explanation about the project management structure and its implementation. The chapter continues by describing the country specificities for both Botswana and Namibia, including the description of overall and specific objectives for each country according to the logical framework, the identification of direct and indirect benefits and principal actors of the project, and finalizes by explaining the monitoring and evaluation systems that have been put in place in relation to the activities carried out and the quantifiable outputs achieved.
