The ultimate goal of data processing is to make appropriate decisions. In this chapter, we analyze how different types of uncertainty affect our decisions. In Sects. 6.1 and 6.2, we consider decision making under interval uncertainty: the usual case of decision making is considered in Sect. 6.1, and the case of decision making in conflict situations is analyzed in Sect. 6.2. In Sect. 6.3, we consider decision making under probabilistic uncertainty and in Sect. 6.4, we consider the case of general uncertainty.
