Abstract
Five institutions produce business tendency surveys (BTS) in India. Their methods broadly adhere to the basic principles of BTS, but as is the case globally, there are deviations at the detail level as feasibility and other practical realities force local adaptions. The composite indicators of the various providers have broadly the same trend and co-move with real GDP growth over time. This chapter was not put together by an expert on the Indian economy and situation. It merely summarises all the information on BTS in India that was publicly available at the time of writing.
