Urbanization: Challenge and Opportunity for Soil Functions and Ecosystem Services (SUITMA 2017)

Part of the book series: Springer Geography ((SPRINGERGEOGR))

Abstract

This article analyzes the issue of using legally regulated quality standards for urban soil as criteria for assessing the health of this part of nature. The authors explore the legal implications of assessing the condition of this environmental component using impact limits (maximum permissible emissions and discharges of substances or microorganisms) rather than quality standards. The purpose of this publication is to find gaps and inconsistencies in Russian law regulating soil quality.
