Abstract
Tumours of the skin can be benign, premalignant, or malignant. Skin cancer is the most common malignancy. It has been estimated that almost half of the people that have reached the age of 65, will have at least one skin cancer. It is therefore essential that the primary care physician should be able to diagnose the common skin tumours, reassure the patients if benign, and refer them to a specialist on an urgent or routine basis as necessary
