Hydrodynamic methods based on the injection of a coolant gas into the boundary layer—the intense heating zone—through porous surfaces are widely used to protect the head part of flight vehicles and surfaces of power plants against high-enthalpy and chemically aggressive gas flows.

Active thermal protection Modeling of heat and mass transfer in a two-temperature permeable medium Balance boundary conditions Porous inert metal materials Pulsations of the gas stream Transpiration cooling Two-phase porous cooling
