Abstract
This chapter introduces several 3D user interface technologies available for games and explains why it is important to study the affects of these technologies on the gaming experience of a user. Specifically, we have focussed on three technologies: (1) stereoscopic 3D, (2) head tracking, and (3) hand gesture based menu systems. Each of these technologies are explained along with how they can potentially improve games.
