Abstract
Over the years Internet accessibility has increased in a remarkable way and now, besides this, the use of devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops allows people to access a large variety of applications, among which are those that enable users to locate places such as restaurants, hotels and parks, allowing quick access to that information. This document presents the development and implementation of a web application for the geolocation of low-cost restaurants, commonly called “huequitas”. Our application uses HTML5, CSS, PHP and JavaScript for the development of the web page and implements the Google Maps API to improve the search experience for locating all the “huequitas” in the sector. The application locates the current position of the user; and, based on the users position, shows the nearby “huequitas” along with the route to follow in order to reach each place. This application is characterized for using MySQL, an Open Source database and three layer architecture at the network level. The design of the application is specifically for a web platform, but being responsive it can be viewed from a smartphone or tablet.
