Abstract
Organizations are structures that are constantly progressing, interacting with their external environment. During these interactions a lot of decision-making and selection processes take place. Some of the decision-making processes are short-term, some are medium term, others are long term.
Long-term decision-making processes naturally involve a broader planning process. Long-term decisions are more complex and have different conditions. This planning process is discussed together with strategy concept in business literature. This study is a study that focuses on the concepts related to strategy and strategy, and focuses on strategic design. While the concepts related to the strategy are discussed, the processes involved in the organizations, and the academic studies in which these processes are used together with the strategic design are included.
This study mainly consists of three parts and answers three basic questions. (i) What are the concepts of strategy, strategic management, strategic planning and strategic design? (ii) What are the types of business operations and functions? (iii) how was strategic design used in business operations in academic literature?
With a brief examination of third part of this study, it can be seen that most of the studies focused on long-term process planning.
