Abstract
This chapter discusses recent developments in Family Life Education (FLE) programs in Colombia. Although the term FLE is not commonly used in this country, there are programs oriented to enhance individuals’ and families’ well-being that derive from extrinsic and intrinsic family policies. Both government agencies and nongovernment organizations develop and implement FLE programs in Colombia. After describing the social, legal, and economic context that frames current family policies, we discuss strengths and challenges in the implementation and evaluation of FLE programs in Colombia. The chapter concludes with a discussion on specific recommendations to overcome existing challenges and foster the development of FLE programs in Colombia.
