Abstract
This chapter provides the rationale for the need for an updated revision of the original Handbook of Cancer Survivorship published a little more than a decade ago. The revised Handbook provides updated and new chapters covering many challenges that cancer survivors continue to face following treatment, progress in the science of healthy lifestyle and emerging models in health care delivery for cancer survivors. Future challenges in research, practice and policy are also discussed.
