Abstract
Retirement is the stage in a person’s life where by they withdraw from their occupation, business, or office. That is, they cease to be gainfully employed. Therefore, retirement planning is often referred to as the allocation of finances for one’s retirement period. The importance of retirement planning and the statistics on retirement are also presented in this chapter. The reader can also find information on different types of retirement funds from which they can choose, and information is given on retirement benefits that are available for nationals of Trinidad and Tobago.
