Abstract

The brief concluding chapter provides a summary of this book on wellness cities at the intersection of holistic health, economy, and urban governance. It highlights the main message, summarizes the role of the eight dimensions of the Y model of wellness, and identifies six possible roles for wellness in local economic development. The discussion ends with remarks on the relevance of demand-side and supply-side strategies, the governing capacity needed in the promotion of a wellness city, and the need to support inclusive prosperity while developing a wellness city.
