Abstract

This chapter emphasizes that Paine failed to carry out his project to write a history of the French Revolution and looks into his few efforts to look back toward this event in his last years. It confirms the assumption on which the whole book was started; that Paine might have been a foreigner to the French Revolution, but was not foreign to it.
