Abstract

This project presents and evaluates a novel virtual-reality Braille writer-simulator, which was developed for sighted tutors to learn and practice writing Braille [1]. Its novelty lies in the fact that it offers Braille trainers the opportunity to learn and practice the Braille writing system, by using a 3D virtual Braille writer [1]. Although Braille training software is available for computer users, we argue that learning Braille through the particular virtual device will be much more effective [2].
