  • Heather Brown
Chapter

Abstract

In this chapter, we introduce some basic economic concepts for those readers who may not be familiar with economics. We also identify the four main types of economic evaluation that are typically thought of as the domain of the health economist. Finally, we define what we mean by public health economics and how this term is used throughout the book.
