Abstract

This paper aims to provide a comparative study of single loop Optoelectronic Oscillator using a fixed narrowband RF filter and variable center frequency tuned circuit filter. Instantaneous amplitude and free running frequency are studied numerically. An expression for the locking range of the OEO with a dynamic band-pass filter is presented. Comparison of tracking capability towards an external injection signal with different amplitude and frequency has been made both theoretically and practically.
