Temporal Bone Cancer

Abstract

Mastoidectomy is a key procedure for dealing with tumors that involve the parotid or periauricular skin. These tumors may involve the facial nerve either through perineural invasion or direct tumor extension. The goals and indications for mastoidectomy in this setting are explained. A stepwise approach for the procedure is described. Complications and adjuvant therapy are discussed.
