Abstract

In recent times some small towns have witnessed economic decline as jobs move overseas. Rethinking and retooling local economies in the face of these economic shifts is urgent. Regarding a town centre as the new wealth generator by design requires foresight and proper planning. This chapter will offer methods for reconfiguring urban, geographic, and economical assets to generate wealth. It will reflect on how communities can attract visitors to encourage and support local commerce.
