Abstract
The story of Italy’s adventure in space developed in Europe and, in its initial stages, took place in parallel with Broglio’s national initiatives. But while the latter, combined with the successes, obtained some popularity, Europe’s commitment was well-known and limited to insiders, both because the other nations remained “distant” in communication and in relationships, and also because the results, which were still moderate, mostly concerned scientists. Hence, without any fuss, European space was born.
