Abstract

Thus far, the complex fluid-film bearing modelling and analyses were deferred to make technical discussions simpler. Before we get into the core subject of bearing dynamics, it is important to be aware of the fact that a variety of fluid-film bearing configurations were utilized in turbo-machinery applications for various reasons. For example, cylindrical bearings were chosen for better load bearing capability.
